OUR CLINIC IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING RENOVATIONS TO ALL AREAS!  PLEASE BEAR WITH US AS WE MAKE OUR CHANGES!

Our clinic offers the opportunity for your child to interact with more than one highly qualified and motivated professional Registered Behavior Technician under the supervision of a clinical supervisor throughout the day.

Each classroom has 7 to 8 stations with age matched peers and a natural environment area to expand on skills with items that are appropriate to the age of the child.  Each classroom has a toilet and a kitchenette to prepare lunches sent from home, should they need refrigeration or microwave.

Intake testing may be conducted in an area where a one way glass allows the parents to view the child during an Assessment of Basic Language and Learning to determine skills the child is able to perform and the interaction between a therapist and your child.

Cameras are in use in each classroom and in the outdoor covered and uncovered play areas.  The play areas are also used to expand a childs repertoire of activities and used for teachable natural environments as well as a respite from indoor therapy activities.

Parent training will be scheduled in the clinic either weekly or biweekly with the clinic supervisor and topics will be principles and strategies along with practical assistance for any issues occuring in the home.

PERMISSION FROM AN IEP TEAM DECISION AND THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO SERVICES BEING PROVIDED.  IF AN INSURANCE CARRIER IS TO BE USED FOR PAYMENT PURPOSES, THIS WILL ALSO REQUIRE APPROVAL IN ADVANCE OF SERVICES.

For children past the age of seven in the State of Alabama, school is often the least restrictive environment (LRE).  Some children will need additional support to teach the skills of remaining in the environment.  This may mean learning how to attend, how to remain seated for the duration of a lesson, how to transition from a preferred activity to a less preferred activity.  If this is the case, Applied Behavioral Concepts, has a team of therapists dedicated to providing behavioral support in a classroom with the least amount of disruption to the student and class.

COMING SOON!

Home therapy is very helpful as parent training accompanies the session.  When the parents participate the child is never "out" of therapy as the follow through parents can provide is everlasting.

Step one of the process will be family training on the principles and strategies to ensure the tools of ABA will be understood and that the families will be able to assist in intervention.

Each session will require two hours of training to the parent.  The first hour will involve a registered behavior technician working with the student and the second hour will be a BCBA or BCaBA coaching the parent to perform the same session requirements.

It is important to note that at least one parent is present for the entire two hours.
